This will be my first Disney’s Princess Half Marathon and
I’m really excited! Sure the course
follows the same route as the WDW ½ Marathon I just ran 6 weeks ago, but the
vibe seems to be totally different! This
race is geared towards women. It’s not
to say that men aren’t welcomed. They
absolutely are, but this race is all about the ladies, princesses and all
things sparkly!
RunDisney reports that 26,000 people (mostly women) will be
running the 5th Princess Half on Sunday, February 24, 2013. This will be my first runDisney
race that I am dressing up for the occasion!
I made two tutus to wear (yes made – no sew tutus with fabric and
supplies from JoAnn’s) - one for the Royal Family 5K Fun Run and the other for
the Princess Half Marathon. I also have
a tiara that I’m hoping will stay in place as I run all 16.2 magical
miles! (I’m totally wearing that tiara
all weekend – who are you kidding?!!)
If you haven't begun to think about packing and need some help, here’s what I’m taking down to the races this year:
Tutus – colored coordinated for
each race!
Tiara
Running Skirts, Tops, and
compression socks
Newton Sneakers – one for each
race and then to wear park-hopping
Road ID’S (pink and black)
iFitness race belt – equipped this year with a new phone holder I picked up at WDW Marathon Expo!
Wrist sweat band – it’s going to
be hot!
Bluetooth ear-buds – probably
won’t wear or bring, but I like to have options
Garmin watch and heart monitor
IPhone battery boost case – so
that I can update my FB and Twitter and so my family can track me real-time using the
Garmin App
Tri-slide, Glide and Blue Lizard sun
block
Accel-gel
UCAN
runDisney race blanket – to wear
to the race start of the ½ marathon if it is too cold
